I am Jane Carney of Jane’s Designs -- Felt like Knitting. I have been making things since I was a little girl, when I think back I must have appeared a bit strange. I don’t know any kids now that spend the amount of time and energy that I did as a child on sewing, painting, baking and learning any new craft that I could get my hands on. Thank God for my Mom, Dad and sisters always supplying me with all the craft and sewing supplies that I could use. I remember my poor Mom being called to the principal’s office because I was wearing gauchos and a vest that I had made that weekend. And him saying “My dear you do realize that those are pants and pants are NOT allowed at this school”Daniela Costa of The Art Life, is a teacher and designer of vintage inspired items, including scrapbooks, jewelry and home decor items. VENDOR PROFILE: Vinyl Frontier
Vinyl Frontier is run by Nicole Vasbinder & Vince Pacheco in Petaluma, CA. We are huge thrift shoppers and have been collecting records for ages. We have tons framed on the walls of our home but we couldn't stop buying more!
Each of our products is made from an old record that was either found in a thrift or was rescued from someone's garage. We NEVER destroy playable records! Those we keep for ourselves. Instead, we take the warped, scratched and damaged ones and turn them into something new! We love custom orders! Have a record you want us to make into a journal? Send us an email! Visit our online store HERE.
VENDOR PROFILE: Desiree Petray
My daughter Jenevieve and I love trolling nearby antique stores and shows, vintage and thrift shops, and flea markets for hidden gems. These mostly consist of Swarovski crystals, Czech glass, aurora borealis and other colorful beads, semi-precious stones, and Lucite and plastic beads. We then lovingly dismantle them, clean them, and reassemble them in hopefully new and interesting ways. Most often, we attach cameos, fused glass, or other unique pendants, adding a contemporary component to each piece. This allows us to give a new life to beautiful jewelry whose former lives have for whatever reason temporarily ended.
I hope you enjoy seeing or wearing our jewelry designs as much as we love making them.
